Flower Thrower – Banksy-Style Bronze Sculpture on Marble Base

An extraordinarily expressive sculpture full of profound symbolism, presenting a three-dimensional interpretation of one of the most iconic works of street art of the 21st century – the famous "Flower Thrower" (also known as "Love Is in the Air" or "Rage, Flower Thrower") by the mysterious British artist Banksy, originally created in 2003 on a wall in Bethlehem in the West Bank. The masked protester in a hoodie, baseball cap, and bandana covering his face is captured in the dynamic, classical pose of a Molotov cocktail or stone thrower – his body twisted backward in full tension, one arm drawn behind his back for momentum, and the other raised for a powerful throw. However, instead of a weapon or instrument of violence, his hand holds a bouquet of flowers – beautiful, fresh roses in full bloom.

This brilliant, surprising contrast is the heart of the message of this work: in a gesture normally associated with aggression, anger, and street riots, lies a profound anti-war and pacifist metaphor – an image of hope instead of hatred, love instead of hostility, beauty instead of destruction. Every detail has been modelled with masterful precision – the folds of the loose hoodie, the dynamically spread legs in sports shoes, the characteristic bandana covering the lower part of the face, the cap visor, and the carefully modelled rose petals, which become the true, poetic heart of the sculpture. The "Banksy" signature delicately impressed upon the base alludes to the original mural and adds a collector's character. The warm, copper-bronze patina with subtle reflections beautifully accentuates the play of light upon the folds of the clothing and the texture of the roses, while the polished black marble base with natural white veining lends the entire piece a noble, gallery-worthy and simultaneously rebellious character.

Every sculpture in our Czysta materia store is entirely handcrafted by experienced artisans using the traditional lost-wax casting technique – which means that each piece is unique and possesses its own distinctive character, subtle variations in patina, and an individual soul. This exceptional work of art will perfectly serve as a striking, controversial, and bold decorative accent in a modern living room, designer loft apartment, contemporary art gallery, creative advertising agency office, graphic design studio, editorial office, café, music club, youth room, or social activist's office. An extraordinary gift for street art enthusiasts, contemporary art collectors, Banksy fans, graphic designers, journalists, social activists, pacifists, hipsters, rebels at heart, and anyone who values bold artistic statements, counterculture, and the power of peaceful protest expressed through the language of art.
